  • Upgraded software & firmware in the ITF data center production & research routers (rtr-itf-1-production, rtr-itf-2-production, rtr-itf-2-research).
    • Which data center – ITF
    • Expected impact on services – The software upgrade is not expected to cause disruption.  The firmware upgrade is expected to restart each router card in series. Everything at ITF is connected to more than one router card, directly or indirectly, so there should be no direct outages, but some devices such as the firewalls might experience trouble.
  • Upgraded software in ITF production & research switches (itf-6, itf-7, itf-8, itf-9, itf-10, itf-11, itf-12, itf-15, itf-16, itf-17, itf-18).
    • Which data center – ITF
    • Expected impact on services – The upgrade is not expected to cause disruption.  If it does, only 1 switch or downstream FEX should be affected at a time, minimizing user impact.
  • Adjusted parameters on a few inter-router links.
    • Which data center – ITF
    • Expected impact on services – The adjustments will be done in series so should not cause disruption, but it's possible that a few packets could be lost.
  • Replaced optic modules in the links between the routers & their directly attached FEXes.
    • Which data center – ITF
    • Expected impact on services – They will be swapped 1 link at a time & there are multiple links, so there should be no visible impact.
  • Upgraded Firewall Software
    • Which data center – ITF
    • Expected impact on services – no impact on service is expected, but due to the nature of the work, a brief disruption in connectivity is possible.
