AirServer is a software based mirroring program that works with both Mac OS X and Windows via iTunes.
It allows a machine to receive the AirPlay content from a capable device.
AirPlay is able to do many of the features of an AppleTV without needing the physical device in addition to your computer.

Wireless connections using the AirGroup service (Apple Airplay on macOS and iOS devices to AppleTVs and AirServer on Windows systems) in lecture halls, classrooms and conference rooms aren't working.
macOS and iOS devices can connect to Solstice Pods using the Solstice App and then use Airplay to mirror their display. Detailed Instructions can be found here: https://teach.uiowa.edu/Solstice.
ITS is working with the vendor to resolve the problem.
