We are seeing improvement among our Teams phones and Microsoft has considered the issue resolved. The Unified Communications Team will continue to assist in getting phones signed back in to those phones affected by the degradation of service. Please reach out to them via Halo if you discover more phones at that are signed out

The Unified Communications team has received preliminary reports from Microsoft that the issues that were affecting these phones have been resolved. However, the team asks that you continue to monitor your affected phones and let the team know if you're still having similar symptoms so we can report it back to Microsoft.

Vendors continue to search for solutions to our intermittent VoIP phone issues. They have identified that issues appear to stem from their level and that we are not the only institution affected. The Unified Communications team will continue to update as we get more information.

The Unified Communications team is aware of multiple issues currently affecting VoIP phones on campus. Devices most affected are the following models: VVX201, VVX311, VVX501, and Poly E100. If there is any sort of interruption of service with your phone, it is advised to power cycle the phone by unplugging the data and power from the back of the phone (leave power off the phone for at least a minute). Also, please do not hook any sort of external power supply back the phone when re-connecting the device. Power over Ethernet is available to these devices. Having both plugged in can further complicate things.

If you continue to have issues with your phone after following these steps, please contact the ITS Help Desk. The Unified Communications team is working with our vendors to find full solution to these issues.
