As part of the ITS Data Center Network Segmentation Project, ITS will migrate the SQL Server 2019 shared database hosting environment (over 900 databases) in September 2025.  This change will involve updated IP addresses and new firewall configurations for the systems listed in the migration schedule below.

Database hosting customers with EI-managed application & web servers that use a SQL Server 2019 shared database hosting system should not need to make any changes; however, they will experience downtimes during the scheduled maintenance windows, and they are strongly encouraged to verify the functionality of their applications immediately after the migrations are complete. 

Database hosting customers that connect to these systems from other servers (e.g., co-managed, customer-managed, or in non-ITS data centers) or from workstation computers will lose network access unless new firewall configurations are deployed prior to migrations.  If you believe that your database usage could fall in these categories, please contact the ITS SQL Server DBA team at ITS-SQL-Help@uiowa.edu
