Starting September 9, voice and text authentication options will be retired for approximately 25,000 users who have enabled the Duo Mobile app but have used voice or text authentication within the past 180 days. These users have received direct communication regarding this change and will need to complete their transition to the Duo Mobile app.

Plans and communications are underway for the next phase of this project. By November 4, an additional 29,000 users will be required to use the Duo Mobile app for authentication.

ITS will be performing maintenance on our Panopto tenant (UICapture) in this time. We don't expect any downtime related to this maintenance, but you may notice a very brief interruption when attempting to log into UICapture directly with your HawkID.

The Zoom integration, Teams integration, Canvas (ICON) integration, Note Depot, and the rest of the core Panopto platform (recording, uploading, editing, and viewing) will be unaffected by this maintenance.

Panopto users are seeing an increased error rate in general website usage. ITS staff are working with the vendor and keeping an eye on the situation. This issue may also impact NoteDepot and Course Analytics Insights useage.

ITS staff are currently investigating problems with viewing content embedded from UICapture in ICON courses. The embedded content is showing an error stating "We’re currently experiencing technical difficulties" instead of showing the video.

ITS Research Services continues to troubleshoot ongoing authentication issues with lc-rs-store34.hpc.uiowa.edu. We will need to perform an emergency maintenance tomorrow morning, Thursday, Aug 21st at 8:30am. We anticipate this work taking about an hour and during that time users will not be able to access their LSS shares.
