[Closed] Service Degradation - ICON Direct - W. W. Norton - Gradebook Issue
W.W. Norton is investigating reports that grades are not being sent properly to Canvas grade books. Students may receive an error message that reads, "Your work and your grade have been saved, but we were not able to transfer your grade to your LMS." Grades are still being properly saved in W.W. Norton's database, so students can continue working and receiving grades. Once this issue has been resolved, any grades previously earned will be properly sent to LMS grade books. During the maintenance window, Top Hat may be unavailable and visitors will see a maintenance page. Any educator who has made an assignment due during or shortly after the maintenance window should consider changing the due date/time so that students have adequate time to complete them.
Service Announcement - Microsoft SQL Server Hosting and Administration - SQL Server shared hosting VRF migrations
As part of the Data Center Network Segmentation project, ITS will migrate SQL Server databases currently hosted on legacy shared hosting systems systems to current SQL Server 2019 shared hosting environments.

ITS staff are aware of an issue impacting both the Remote Admin and Titanium services. Users may be unable to access these services or may experience degraded performance.

Halo is currently experiencing a service degradation with reporting services. Users can still log in to Halo and create and manage tickets, but dashboards and reporting features are slow to load or show errors.
[Closed] Service Announcement - Microsoft 365: Email & Calendaring - Email Phishing Spread Reduction
ITS will implement a daily sending limit for Faculty, Staff, and Shared email accounts on Thursday, August 6, 2026. This will be the final implementation phase of this email security enhancement.
The primary driver behind this change is to limit the spread of phishing attacks when an account is compromised. When a bad actor gains access to a university account, they typically move quickly to send large volumes of phishing emails to other members of our community. Certificate Issuance - Maintenance
Certificate issuance services will undergo a brief planned maintenance window Monday, July 27, 2026 from 8:00 - 8:30AM, to revalidate the production uiowa.edu domain and test the OV ACME certificate issuance endpoint.
During the approximately 30-minute maintenance window, existing certificates and services using them should continue to operate normally.
New certificate issuance, renewal, or replacement requests may temporarily pause or fail. Requests should be retried after maintenance is complete.
