Any Files@Iowa SMB/CIFS shares with DFS links (available under the \\iowa.uiowa.edu\shared namespace) are also accessible via the SFTP and FTPS protocols.  (SMB shares without DFS links and NFS share are not accessible via this service.)

To use the service, you will need to connect with a HawkID or service account that has rights to the share you want to access.

The remote folder/path for all shares start under /DFSROOT (equivalent to \\iowa.uiowa.edu\shared).  For command line clients or code, use "/" (forward slash) as the path separator for best portability (some clients also allow "\" (backslash) as the path separator, but verify before using).

FTPS (FTP over SSL/TLS)

The FTPS protocol is supported by clients such as WinSCP, WS_FTP and FileZilla, as well as various programming libraries.

The FTPS interface to Files@Iowa is accessible at ftps.iowa.uiowa.edu.
