Description

Siteimprove is an automated tool that checks websites for accessible content. When used alongside other tools and manual testing, it can help ensure your site meets the WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards. Siteimprove can also find broken links and identify ways to improve your site, beyond the WCAG guidelines.

Siteimprove is available as a free browser extension you can use to scan individual webpages. The University also has a license that runs automatic scans for your entire site.

To add your site to Siteimprove: Email either the University's Digital Accessibility Coordinator (itaccessibility@uiowa.edu) or the OSC web team (its-web@uiowa.edu). Note: All new SiteNow website URLs are added into Siteimprove as part of the OSC web team's launch process. Once added, the initial scan will take a few days to complete.

To create a user account in Siteimprove and associate your user name with the website(s) you're responsible for: Email the OSC web team (its-web@uiowa.edu) with your name, email, and URL(s). Once your account is created, you will be able to simply log in to Siteimprove using your HawkID and password.
