SharePoint 2013 and OneDrive for Business allows you to sync your libraries to your computer and access them from your computer's File Explorer (Windows) instead of a web browser. Any changes made will then sync to your site libraries when you are online.  In order to use this feature, follow the appropriate instructions below.

Please note: At this time, the Sync client is only available for Windows - Microsoft is working on a client for Mac OS.

Sync your SharePoint site library to your computer:

  1. From a web browser, authenticate to your SharePoint site
  2. Navigate to the site library you wish to sync to your computer
  3. Click the Sync button at the top of the page
    SyncSharePoint
  4. When prompted, click Sync Now to start the sync app wizard
  5. After the sync is finished, you can navigate to the SharePoint folder on your computer to access your site library.

 

Sync your OneDrive for Business to your computer: 

  1. From a web browser, authenticate to SharePoint or Office 365
  2. Click the OneDrive link at the top of the page to access OneDrive for Business
  3. Click the Sync button

  4. When prompted, click Sync Now to start the sync app wizard
  5. After the sync is finished, you can navigate to the OneDrive folder on your computer to access your site library.
