NOTE:  when opening the calendar for the first time in Outlook, it will prompt "Do you want to open this calendar as a new calendar or import its items into your calendar?" - since the calendar contains several entries per day, you may want to open as a new calendar.  That way the calendar can be turned on/off easily but you will still have access to the events.

You may also wish to add the BMindful calendar.  The calendar lists the major religious holy days where religious observers are likely to stay home from work or school.

The University of Iowa DDEI Celebrations page also has holidays and observances that may be of interest.

  1. Download the Global Diversity Calendar to your computer
    1. Double click the file to open it then click the Outlook app

  3. Browse to the .ics file downloaded in step 1, select OK
  1. You will be prompted "Do you want to open this calendar as a new calendar or import its items into your calendar?" -- select Open as new  - we recommend the Open as new option since there are a lot of events on the calendar and might be easiest to view as a separate calendar.  The Import option imports the calendar into your personal calendar, which is fine, but the events are intermixed and may be hard to separate.
