Fast FAQs

The UUE Project has already began.  You may have had some or all of the project components already completed and are enjoying the benefits.  If you haven't had any changes yet, your IT support staff will reach out to you to let you know when you can expect your computer to be updated when your department is ready.

The goal is that this will have minimal impact on you and your work day.  Most of the changes will be implemented overnight or will be behind the scenes.

Having up-to-date operating systems, applications, and security patches is important.  Here are some of the reasons why:

  • New features
  • Security enhancements
  • Improved campus support
  • Consistent user experience
  • Power savings

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to your IT support staff or the ITS HelpDesk (its-helpdesk@uiowa.edu).
