New Location for Opt-Out Tool: ICON Help Menu
Students can now access the ICON Direct Opt-Out Tool in the Help Menu of their ICON courses. The location has changed because the ICON Dashboard has been decommissioned.
New VitalSource eReader: Requires Third Party Cookies
When first accessing their eTexts via the “ICON Direct eTexts” link, students must accept the Terms of Use and enable Third Party Cookies. This new VitalSource eReader has some great features we think students will value: Text to Speech, Notes, Bookmarks, and Flashcards.

ITS will be moving access points in East Campus Residence Halls between wireless controller clusters.
Some access points may reboot during the process disrupting connectivity for up to 15 minutes.
[Closed] Service Degradation - SiteNow
We're experiencing upstream issues with our hosting provider that are affecting our ability to process new website requests and complete website launches.
We're actively working with the provider to resolve this, but cannot commit to specific delivery or launch windows at this time.

The Argon HPC service will be down for regular maintenance from 8:00 AM on August 12th until 8:00 AM on August 13th. During the maintenance all jobs will be stopped and users will be unable to log in.

ITS will be moving access points in Stanley Residence Hall between wireless controller clusters.
Some access points may reboot during the process disrupting connectivity for up to 15 minutes.

Wireless display discovery (airplay, googlecast, and miracast ) is currently having issues.
NES engineers are investigating the issue.
[Closed] Planned Maintenance - Multiple Services - Login and Identity Data Warehouse
On Monday, August 10th 2026 from 10:00 PM - 11:00 PM CDT, ITS will conduct maintenance on the production Identity Data Warehouse (IDW) to migrate to new storage.
Many ITS services will be unavailable during this maintenance period, including anything that uses web-based HawkID Login (i.e. Shibboleth or Login Tools).
Access to Office 365 will not be disrupted.
Users who are already logged in to services prior to the maintenance window should not experience a major disruption, but may encounter errors.
Total outage time is expected to be ~20 minutes during the maintenance window.
[Closed] Planned Maintenance - Microsoft SQL Server Hosting and Administration - Shared SQL Server Database Hosting Systems Downtime
ITS Enterprise Infrastructure will perform maintenance on the underlying storage infrastructure supporting shared SQL Server database hosting systems on Monday, August 10, beginning at 6:00 PM.
This maintenance affects databases hosted on IOWASQLPROD7 (legacy aliases include IOWASQLHOST1, IOWASQLHOST2, and IOWASQLHOST3), as well as IOWASQLPROD8 (legacy alias IOWASQLSEC4).
During the maintenance window, hosted databases may be unavailable for up to 30 minutes. After maintenance is complete, some applications may require services to be restarted or application servers to be rebooted before normal
