INDIVIDUAL

Requesting a Microsoft 365 account All students, faculty, and staff will automatically receive Microsoft 365 email accounts upon joining the University of Iowa. Email aliases (e.g., jane-doe@uiowa.edu) and Microsoft 365 accounts are created automatically when an employee's HR paperwork is processed or when a student is admitted to the University of Iowa.  NOTE:  an exception is Affiliates -- the department will need to request an account for them. University of Iowa Health Care faculty and staff will receive a Microsoft 365 account as part of the UI Health Care provisioning process

Requesting to Mail-Enable a group - Mail-enabled groups are used when you want to have email messages sent to all members of the group instead of to a single mailbox.  They are also used for granting permissions to a Microsoft 365 resource or shared account

Requesting a new Distribution Group - these groups are created so that members are auto-populated based on a certain criteria (dept, job code, etc.).  If you need a distribution list created that isn't auto-populated, check with your department IT support person for help
