You cannot actively use a PST file from OneDrive or SharePoint Online. While you may store your old PST files on OneDrive for Business or SharePoint Online for backups, Microsoft is NOT recommending this as a practice. The recommended practice is to convert your PST files to your Office 365 account.

If you do decide to store your PST files:

  1. Login to Office365.uiowa.edu with your HawkID and password
  2. Click on the OneDrive tile (blue cloud on the left hand side)
  3. Create a new folder called "PST Files"
  4. Upload your PST files into the new folder you created

These files cannot be in the Desktop, Documents or Pictures folder in order to sync properly.  You cannot sync the folder that you just created.  It can simply remain in the cloud for safekeeping.

NOTE:  On August 13, 2021, Microsoft will change the versioning settings for PST files. Versions of PST files older than 30 days will be deleted.
