Your HawkID is the username you use to log on to University services such as ICON, MyUI, Office 365, and HR Self-Service. Since it is not a publicly used identifier, changing your HawkID is not required or necessary, even if your name changes due to marriage or other reasons. However, if you would like your HawkID changed to reflect your new name or be more representative of your name, you can contact the ITS Help Desk to make that change.
Note: It can take 24-48 hours for all systems that use the HawkID to be responsive to a HawkID change. Therefore, you would not want to have your HawkID changed during a time frame where you have a critical need to access some services (for example, before a dropbox item is due in ICON or submitting your hours in HR Self-Service).
Healthcare domain customers should contact the HCIS Help Desk at 319-356-0001 if they wish to change their HealthCareID.
