ITS has received reports from several campus locations about problems accessing cable television services.
ITS support staff are investigating the issue.
ITS will be performing maintenance to the Campus Cable TV system (CATV) on Tuesday 5 July 2016 from 8:00AM-10:00AM.
This may cause brief interruptions during this time period.
Mediacom has repaired the cable cut and Cable TV services have been restored on campus. High speed internet at Hawkeye Drive Apartments should also be working as well.
Addendum - This outage will also affect high speed internet at Hawkeye Apartments.
Mediacom reports that a fiber cable has been cut and is causing a Cable TV outage in the Iowa City area. This will affect Cable TV on campus.
Mediacom is working to restore service as quickly as possible. We will update this page once we have further information.
ITS has been notified that Windstream Communications will be relocating fiber cable between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids on May 20, 2016 from 12:00 AM - 6:00 AM.
This will affect internet service for all Mediacom customers in Iowa City and Coralville as well as towns south of Iowa City. Internet connectivity is not expected to be interrupted but may be slow.
