The Research Remote Desktop Service (RRDS) provides a Windows virtual desktop environment through which users can remotely access research data and pre-installed analysis software. RRDS is specifically meant for those who need access to statistical analysis applications in a high performance computing environment and is not meant as a work from home solution. RRDS offers various statistical software and can be accessed from both on-campus and off-campus using a VPN connection. Users are required to have a working HawkID and Duo set up to log in and use the service. HealthcareIDs are not able to access the service at this time.
Please see the How to and Support tab for more information about RRDS and how to connect.
Please navigate to the Data Classification Guide to IT Services for information on what types of data can be used on the service.
*NEW RRDS UPDATE* - There is a new instance of RRDS. On March 6th, the old version of RRDS will be retired. If you are an existing user and have not yet moved to the new instance of RRDS, you will need to move data to a UI managed/networked drive and log into the new RRDS prior to March 6th. Please see this support article for instructions on how to move your data and access the new RRDS
