Today I’m pleased to announce that the 2012-2013 ITS Biennial Report is now available online at http://reports.its.uiowa.edu.This is the first time we’ve created a report of this nature, and we are happy with the result—it really provides a nice overview of the major technology initiatives that were completed, and a preview of what’s next on the agenda.
You’ll get a sense of the quality, diversity, magnitude, and complexity of services and technologies ITS provides. Stories and interactive charts illustrate the tremendous growth of IT services on campus, and explain some of the efficiencies gained through new technologies and process improvements.
There were many milestones over the past two years—bringing a new data center into production, launching a comprehensive, internally built student information system called MAUI, greatly expanding research computing resources, and building a technology-infused Learning Commons at the Main Library, to name a few.
I’d also like to note that the theme of the report is collaboration because everything ITS does involves partnerships. We would not have been able to accomplish all of this without the input and contributions of other units on and beyond campus.
We hope you’ll find the report interesting and valuable. A feedback form is available on the site, and we would welcome any comments you have.
Thanks and best regards,
Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer
