The Office of Teaching, Learning & Technology has joined with other campus partners to present a day-long event that draws together faculty members and administrators to examine how learning technologies can be leveraged to engage students.
With the adoption of Canvas as the engine that drives ICON, instructors have gained many new functions within our course sites that help us collaborate and engage with other users in the course. One such tool is known as “Groups.”
The Data Centers and Servers Project is working on consolidations in Psychology, Tippie College of Business, the Iowa Memorial Union, College of Public Health, Facilities Management, the Athletic Hall of Fame, and various other departments.
The project consolidated Drupal-hosted websites on campus onto a single platform, migrated over 650 sites to the cloud-hosting provider Acquia, and implemented a Drupal Digital Signage Service for campus-wide use.
As part of task force recommendations to elevate the role of human resources on campus, the Information Management/Human Resources (IM/HR) workgroup is transitioning into ITS-Administrative Information Systems.
This Information Security and Policy Office announced a reorganization, through which Enterprise Services staff responsible for IT accessibility services and support will join the department and two new workgroups will be formed.
The ITS Extended Technical Support team provides desktop support to users across campus. Significant growth in the past year through the OneIT End User Support initiative is enabling a new organizational structure to improve services for campus.
