What is OneDrive for Business?
Simply put, OneDrive for Business is the free, cloud file storage included in our Office 365 service for faculty, staff, and students which allows you to store, sync, and share files across multiple devices. You can also collaborate with users on and off campus, and simultaneously edit documents in real time using Microsoft Office or Office Web Apps.
What is the difference between OneDrive for Business and OneDrive?
- OneDrive for Business is included in the on-campus Office 365 service for faculty, staff, and students and allows users 1TB of cloud storage space and the ability to upload a 2GB file. OneDrive for Business is supported by ITS and should be used for your work at the University - whether it be your dissertation or a document you are working on for a conference.
- OneDrive is Microsoft's free, consumer-based cloud file storage service. This service is not supported by ITS. OneDrive consumer service or any other consumer service such as DropBox can be used for personal data storage.
